GT8 is meeting this Monday, even though there is no school on that day. We will meet at the same time and location as normal. We will be planning for the upcoming outing, the upcoming Court of Honor, and the SPL has some fun activities planned.

Summer camp is fast approaching! GT8 is attending Camp Sinoquipe again. Most scouts have signed up or indicated that they cannot attend. If you have not, please do so now. The first payment deadline is March 1 - $200 is due. Please either provide the Treasurer with a check at an upcoming meeting, or go here to pay online. If you want to pay the full amount now, it is $500. If not, the second payment is due on April 1.

Come join us in removing invasive plants (English ivy, Japanese honeysuckle vine, wintercreeper) along the C&O canal! SSL hours available and all supplies are provided, including pruners, work gloves, and trash bags. Poison ivy may be present, so please take care to wear proper clothing/shoes. Parents must accompany minor children, and both parents and children should register in advance at the link below.

The fitness test for the Tenderfoot requirement will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 9:00 AM at Silver Creek Middle School in Kensington.

The fitness test is a Tenderfoot requirement which requires a baseline test of push-ups, sit-ups, flexibility and a mile run and a retest after 30 days after planning a month-long fitness improvement plan and executing the plan.

GT8 will hold its winter Court of Honor on Monday, February 23. All scouts hoping to complete advancement to the next rank prior to the Court of Honor should discuss with Scoutmaster Tucker at the meeting on February 2 to ensure that there is a pathway to completing advancement in time.

Our February 21-22 outing is snow tubing! As soon as possible, please to to the event page and RSVP if you are or are not attending so that we can get a head count and can buy enough tickets.
