This week the GT8 Fundraiser will commence. Scouts will be selling, assembling and
delivering holiday wreaths priced at $40 each. Six different color themes will be available:

Troop 8 (both the boys and girls troops) will be giving back to the North Chevy Chase Christian Church, which is so generous to allow us to use their space for meetings, by helping take care of the grounds around the building.

Mark your calendars for November 8, 2025 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (9705 Summit Ave, Kensington, MD 20895) —this is your chance to knock out some of Scouting's most valuable merit badges in just one day!

Sharing a message to help with an Eagle Scout Project:

My name is Luca and I am a sophomore at Blair HS and a life scout in Troop 439. I am asking for help with my Eagle Scout project. We will be building a shed and restoring two picnic tables for Garrett Park Nursery School on their playground. I am sure all of you know Lydia Tucker, who I am friends with and whose dad is helping me with this project. Since her and Eliza will be helping out, I figured I would reach out to see if any other GT8 scouts would be interested.

All scouts and family members are invited to attend the fall Court of Honor, which is at our normal meeting time on Monday, October 13 at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting at the Silver Creek Middle School rather than at the church. All family members are encouraged to come to recognize all of the scouts who have earned Merit Badges over the summer or advanced to the next rank. We have a lot of scouts who have been very busy since the last Court of Honor who will be recognized! Scouts should wear their full Class A uniforms, including merit badge sashes.

GT8 is not planning on a high adventure trek in 2026, but there are several possible high adventure treks that scouts can participate in if they are interested. Below are the three potential options that we are aware of. Please let ASM Tucker know ASAP if you are interested in any of the below options.
